Aleksandra Stankevic is a young woman with a intellectual disability, without parents or close relatives, who currently lives at the residential home for people with mental disabilities in Lithuania.
Aleksandra’s paintings are vibrant and captivating, filled with rich, expressive colors. When looking at her works, one can see a playful dance of colors that either blend into a harmonious whole or, conversely, burst apart in a powerful display.
Her painting is free and unrestrained, offering a unique opportunity for each viewer to interpret her art in their own way. Aleksandra comes up with the titles of her paintings herself. These titles reveal what she intended to express and depict through her works, while her expressive compositional choices allow us to see her paintings through her own eyes.
