Miracles of each moment

The artist acts as a vessel, channeling profound messages into material expression in this world. Today’s vessel is the acclaimed calligrapher, artist, scholar, writer, translator, and activist, Kazuaki Tanahashi.

Kazuaki Tanahashi’s work truly embodies the beauty of Zen philosophy, particularly through his series of Zen Circles. Each brushstroke of the enso invites the viewer into a state of mindfulness and presence. His art serves as a reminder of the sacredness in each moment, offering a peaceful contemplation on the simplicity of life’s miracles. Many of his multicolored enso carry the simple yet sacred invitation: “Miracles of Each Moment”, preserving the essence of Zen, while emphasizing both the visual beauty of the artwork and the profound message it conveys.

Beyond his artwork, Kazuaki Tanahashi is the founder of the initiative “A World Without Armies”, demonstrating his deep commitment to fostering a more harmonious and peaceful world. His involvement in global efforts like this, alongside the Inochi project, highlights how his art and activism are beautifully intertwined, inspiring change on both a personal and global scale.
